DIY CREATIVE ECONOMY CONFERENCE (DCEC) is a platform celebrating Malaysia’s emerging creative movement driven by the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) culture. With its roots established in the Kuala Lumpur underground music scene in the 1990s, the DIY ideology, also known as indie, now inspires a new breed of homegrown creative entrepreneurs. Today, the DIY ideology’s influence is visible across a wide range of disciplines from home recording studios, independent book publishers, fashion pop up stores to food trucks.

With guest speakers ranging from the man that introduced Nirvana to the world – Bruce Pavitt (founder of Sub Pop Records) (via video conference) to infamous Malaysian media innovator, Ahmad Izham Omar (Chief Executive Officer of Primeworks Studios and Chairman of Content Forum of Malaysia) – DCEC is aims to uplift the local creative economic scene that was inspired by the Do-It-Your-Self (DIY) culture with highly curated platform where industry insights and business intricacies are shared from the most iconic local and international DIY creative practitioners, creative directors, industry leaders and creative entrepreneurs.

Join us in Cyberjaya on November 25, as DCEC gathers some of the most influential local and international DIY creative practitioners to share their valuable insights, ideas and experiences on how they’ve turned their passion into sustainable and profitable businesses.
